How Instagram’s new album feature won the red carpet

By now everyone has probably noticed that Instagram launched a new album feature, where instead of uploading a single image at a time, users can upload up to 10 photos or videos for their followers to swipe through, similar to what you would see in a carousel ad.

The best display of this new Insta feature was at The Oscar’s on Sunday night. As celebrities arrived on the red carpet, fashion outlets like Harper’s Bazaar and Glamour were quick to upload albums showcasing every little detail of the beautiful dresses and dapper suits.

And as if one image wasn’t enough to showcase the #relationshipgoals of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend…

I’m not sure if Instagram launched the feature with the Oscar’s in mind, or if it was coincidental timing, but I think it’s safe to say that Sunday night proved how valuable the album feature is, and Instagram can rest easy knowing their users are on board with it.
